As a follow up to yesterday’s post “Who Me?” , I promised to follow up today, like a good little blogger should, with some answers. I gave you a list of 5 things about me in which only one of them was 100% true. Which one did you think it was? Although there was some truth to each and every thing that I listed, the only one that was 100% true was ……
I was a victim of a home invasion robbery where I was held at gunpoint for over two hours. The criminals were captured following a sting operation where I had to contact the men by telephone (they had left a contact number with a demand for more money once the banks opened) and demand my stuff back. This was followed by a trial where I was the star witness for the District Attorney.
So how many of you got it right? Did my hubby? Now while I promise that I will cover each of these things in my Journey through life posts, I will give you a brief explanation. When I was about 4 months pregnant with (12) and living in Southern California, there was a knock on my door at just before midnight. Expecting it to be my father in law (who sometimes stopped by at that time after dropping my mother in law off at work just down the street), my first husband opened the door without looking through the peephole. Two men with guns were waiting outside and pushed their way in. They held us at gunpoint while searching through our house. They took some jewelry and some money and my BMW (that I only had for 2 months). When they left, they left me a number for a prepaid cell phone. They demanded that I go to the bank first thing Monday morning and close out my account. I was to call them when I was done so we could arrange a drop off for the money. Crazy right? I was not to call the police because they’d be watching. After they left, I was afraid to call the police and so I called a good friend of mine that I new was armed. He quickly came and picked me and (16) up (he was only 3 at the time) and took us some place safe. He talked me into telling the police and by the next morning we were talking to some officers. There ended up being a sting to catch these creeps. There was a trial in which I was a witness for the District Attorney’s office. They piled on every charge that they could and the main guy received a sentence of 40 years, with his accomplice receiving 8 years. There is obviously more to the story and truth be told, it was an inside job. Yep! Someone I knew orchestrated the whole thing. I will be covering it in more detail when I get to that point in my life in those posts.
As for the other situations I listed, I will briefly share what made them NOT true.
I spent a week being paid to teach strippers in Southern California how to spin the stripper pole properly after a few strippers at a popular strip club injured themselves. During that week I had some help from a few famous people (who hadn’t yet become famous) including Eve, who briefly made some money as an exotic dancer while awaiting her musical claim to fame. -I did spend a week teaching strippers the proper way to spin the pole and was paid to do so. There was a series of events where some strippers at a club had injured themselves (ahem) and they had to be taught to spin the pole properly. Even strip clubs worry about workmen’s compensation all! LMAO
What made this situation not true was the help from famous people like Eve. Eve was in fact a stripper during that time period before becoming famous, however she lived across the country at the time and did not participate in helping me whatsoever.
I had a brush with fame when I was invited to submit pictures to Playboy when they were seeking a new “bunny”. I was only 20 and was talked into submitting my pictures by a close group of friends. My pictures made it through the first two phases but I was disqualified when I was asked to submit my personal information and they discovered I was only 5’2. They were searching for a new “bunny” that was around the height of 5’6 because of a project she’d be working on. -I was in fact talked into submitting photos to Playboy for a contest. My pictures did in fact pass through the first two phases but it wasn’t my height that got me disqualified. I was disqualified entering into the third phase with less than 100 women left because they discovered I was married with children. Doh! lol. They were searching for a new bunny without any “attachments”. Their word choice, not mine.
Shortly after becoming a teenager, my house was raided by the FBI. The house was completely torn apart in search of some “documents” and I was escorted everywhere I went (even when I went to pee). When the search was over, I was taken to the police station where I was questioned for hours regarding the activity of myself and some of my family members. - My house was in fact raided by the FBI when I was 13 and I had an escort everywhere during their search, including the bathroom. What made this untrue was that I was not taken to the station for questioning. I was only asked a few questions at the house while they were finishing up their search and I was in fact allowed to stay home when they all left. yes, it was like a scene from a movie and our front door was forced open.
After years of attending professional dance classes at a well known dance academy, I was in position to be accepted as a member of a dance company for the performing arts where I was living. This opportunity would have paid for my college and given me an outstanding dance resume in a filed that I loved. However, I chose to turn the opportunity down and drop out of dance altogether so that I could devote all of my time and energy into playing softball for my high school. – I did attend professional dance classes for quite a few years that led to this potential opportunity. While I was in fact a pitcher and catcher for my high school’s softball team at the time, it was not the reason why I didn’t pursue a position with the dance company. I was given this opportunity at a time in my life where I was not making good decisions for myself and found myself in a lot of trouble. Therefore, the opportunity was given to another dancer after I was forced to move.
All of these events greatly affected me and my relationships with the other people in my life, which is why I chose to post them. These are all things that I will cover in more detail in my Life’s Journey posts.
I warned you that my life was crazy, didn’t I?

Holy cow! Girl you should make a movie about your life! The truth about the home invasion is so scary and I can’t believe it was an inside job!
My sister was at her boyfriend’s parents house one time when she was around 20 and it got raided by the FBI. she said it was one of the scariest times of her life!
It was scary. I won’t even pretend that it wasn’t. It most certainly was an inside job. I couldn’t believe the whole situation myself. I’ve been told that my life should be made into a movie. I’m down if someone wants to put this shit together
Marina says that Angelina Jolie can play me. I’m cool with that. But if she gets out of line and tries adopting my kids, I’ll have to put the smack down!
Of course I knew…. I know all. :-p like I said #8
Oh sure you did
Still being a smart ass.
WTF! Do FBI agents randomly do that.. do they just raid peoples houses? Maybe I am hanging with two lame of a crowd. Time to ditch these leeches people call kids!!
JK I bet if I ever get raided it is gonna be cause their retarded butts!
And I failed this test… so what is the consolation prize? Do I get a free pole or how about some nice stripper shoes?
Don’t ditch the
leecheskids, bring them with you to the dark side! LMAO And yes my dear, you failed. However, you can still get the private dance if you bring your happy ass to Vegas! And I thought my life was crazy! No wonder I heart you so much
Awww. For Real? Because I heart you too!!!!
This is pretty crazy shit once again! I guess if you have written your whole life down, it is going to be a bestseller! And any hollywood studio would love to turn it into a movie I believe. Probably a sequal!
Someone needs to help me find a
directorproducersomeone with some connections here people! LMAOLOL. I am willing to write the script for you! How’s that for a start?
Lol. Everybody has to start somewhere, right?
I was wrong.
But that had to be shit scary!!! And an inside job as well! That’s something you never forget!
I got it right!
Talk about adventure, Jill… LOL!
Lol! Adventure happens
I have just spent an hour catching up on you and I have to say I LOVE how you make me laugh! Thank you for the best hour I have spent in a long time! You even rivaled Sister Wives permier!
Aww! Thanks for reading Pie
so glad I could make you smile. I rivaled sister wives? Dude, I rock!!!
Wow. That’s a pretty amazing and chilling moment in your life. I was secretly guessing it was the Playboy one but wow… the truth is far more shocking. I tip my hat to you for remaining cool during the ordeal. I was robbed at gunpoint too once a long time ago so I know the feeling all too well. Really makes you re-evaluate your perspective on things afterwards.
It definitely changes the way you see the world. That’s no joke. Sorry you had to experience that. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Well, maybe I would bt that’s another story altogether. Lol
As far as playboy goes, I consider myself lucky for getting as far as I did with it. I knew going into it that I’d be disqualified once they discovered the hubby and kids so I wasn’t heartbroken or anything. It’s an experience I am grateful for.
[...] post but the movie as well. Double jeopardy in a sense. This title came to me as I was reading my blend’s post about a rather traumatic time in her life. It made me ponder my own mortality for a moment. [...]
That’s about all I can say right now.
Basically just sitting here with my mouth hanging open–what a life you must have (already) had. I think this weekend I will have to have a couple beers and sit down and read every word of your blog. You definitely need to turn your life into a book. It sounds like you and your family have a real nice life now, though, and I am glad for that.
Thanks Trailer!
