Versatile by definition:
could mean many of things.
an adjective
1. Changing or fluctuating readily: variable
Now I’m assuming that if I didn’t change daily I would begin to stink. While most people worry about what other people think about their hygiene habits, I am more concerned about my own thoughts. After all, aren’t I the one that has to put up with me all day? And aren’t I the one that would have to be stuck in the laundry room with some stinky ass clothes? Therefore, I change readily!
2. embracing a variety of fields, subjects, or skills
Now I have openly discussed many things in this here blog of mine. If you’ve been a reader for any length of time you know that the subjects range from whips, pasties, sex and alcohol…to parenting, youth sports and medical conditions.
3. capable of moving laterally and up and down
Well that just paints a damn picture now doesn’t it?
ahem

Over the last couple of weeks I was lucky enough to have not one, not two, but three members of my blogging family nominate me for the Versatile Blogger Award. What exactly does this mean? It means that I have great personal hygiene, am not afraid to talk about the most random of shit and ? Well, lets just say I have an active sex life.
I am going to assume that the million dollar check, personal chef and maid service are still on their way. Right?
Waiting………………………………….

Until they arrive, I figured I would pass the time by completing my Versatile Blogger recipient obligations. What would they be?
- Post a link to the Versatile Blogger who gave you the award.
- Share seven things about yourself that are not widely known.
- Nominate five other bloggers.
I was given this prestigious award by three members of my blogging family. So first, I would love to take a moment to thank them. These three members represent 3 different countries in this wonderful world of ours and so I was excited when I realized that I may, in fact, be expecting an international chef. SCORE!!
The Zen Assassin from - THE $#!& I THINK ABOUT - is a member of my blogging family from Iqaluit, Nunavit. He also has a blog that he shares with his wife where they share their experiences since moving to Nunavit – I’ll have Nunavit -
Pett from – Mot Juste – is a member of my blogging family from the Phillipines.
Now that I’ve checked my first duty off the list, lets get down to the nitty gritty shall we?
Seven things not widely known about me
I’ll give you the first one but you’ll have to wait for another post to see the remaining 6 and my nominees!

1. I am allergic to chocolate but still eat it. Let me explain my madness….. I have an auto immune disorder in which I am unable to eat any foods that contain gluten. This is more than a “gluten intolerance”. Eating any food containing gluten could put me in the hospital, and it has on a few occassions. During my lifetime I have developed almost every issue that is commonly associated with my auto-immune disorder. This includes heart issues, muscle and bone issues, skin issues, neurological issues, blood sugar issues, thyroid issues, and other dietary issues. While some of my medical issues are very serious and widely known, my allergy to chocolate is not something I’ve told many people about and is just a mere discomfort ( itchy skin and rash with swelling of hands and feet ). I have had to give up many of my most favorite foods because of my auto-immune disorder. I have decided that since I am in love with chocolate and it doesn’t cause any permanent damage, I will put up with a little itching and swelling now and then.

Risking death for chocolate. Now that’s love.
I knew someone would understand!
I applaud you for living life on the edge. There are far worse ways to go than death by Chocolate……
You’ve got that right my friend
As one with auto-immune inconvenience–I refuse to call it a disease or disorder. I am always, or usually at ease and mostly orderly. Anyway, I have no problem with chocolate but if I did I would probably eat it. We are all gonna go someday somehow…
Yes we will.
Wow… I think I am like that with Red Meat.
I would die for it… seriously.
Shouldn’t you die for what you love??
I think you should! Glad we are on the same page here
I would do the same thing as you for some chocolate.
I knew you’d understand! Now if it was a chocolate cupcake or pop tart would that seal the deal?
You almost had a 4th from me until I saw Zen awarded already to you. Congrats to you!
Oh, and ouch on the chocolate thing. I’d be crushed if I couldn’t eat it.
Thanks for thinking of me
I never for a second contemplated giving it up!
Congrats on the award!
I am very sorry about your allergy, I am allergic to chocolate now as well. I do have to warn you though, you can go years with the same mild reaction to something, then have a reaction that nearly kills you or does kill you. As allergies often get worse over time. (Something I unfortunately know a lot about.)
A good friend of mine did exactly what you are describing with seafood (she only had mild itching, but kept eating it occasionally for years) and then she nearly died of a severe reaction after she had it for dinner one night and fell asleep awhile later. Because she was asleep she didn’t realize her reaction was more severe until it was extremely bad.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to lecture you. I did much the same thing with wheat, until I finally had to eliminate it for good. Pot calling kettle black here.
But be careful !! It scares me that you are still eating it with hand/feet swelling, that is a big step in the not good direction. Because it could be your airways that swell next.
I hope you at least have a script for an Epi-Pen. If not, please ask your doctor for one. Anyone with food allergies should have one in case of severe reactions.
No worries. I never live farther than a mile from a trauma center ( 11 is accident prone ) and have my former partner ( emergency medicine ) living right here with me
That’s just an added bonus!
No worries Deb. I’m usually the “pot” calling “kettle”
I’m not allergic to chocolate.
I’m addicted.
Hi, my name is Irene, and I’m a chocoholic.
But that’s gotta suck being allergic to so many foods. It’s funny how most of us take food for granted, but when an allergic reaction to so many different types takes effect, you realize how much you miss. Is there any substitute of chocolate that you can eat?
I’m sure there is but I haven’t felt the need as of yet to go and seek it out. All of my food allergies ( 13′s too ) make it really difficult to eat out. Because of contamination issues we can’t eat foods cooked in other people’s kitchens either. That is why all holidays are held at our place.
Wow, I think I’d kill someone if I couldn’t have chocolate!
Amen
Congratulations on winning another! award! You so deserve this one as well!
Thanks Marc!
