Mondays are overwhelming. I don’t like them.
I’m not a prejudiced person, so the fact that I dislike Mondays to the extent that I do had me concerned.
Let’s think about this…..
I don’t think it’s Monday’s fault that I don’t like it. I think it’s Sunday’s fault. And to be honest, I’m not a huge fan of Sundays either.
I think that Tuesdays are actually the official start of the emotion of our week. You heard me right, I said Tuesday.
Tuesday
You are already in the frame of mind to get shit done and know you’ll eventually end up at the weekend if you work hard enough.
Wednesday
HUMP DAY. Who doesn’t like a day that instantly makes you think of sex? Come on, you know you do. No one cares that it ACTUALLY refers to getting over the hump of the middle of the week. We are talking down and dirty, hump your desk leg, can’t wait till Friday HUMP DAY.
Thursday
This is the day of the week where we actually start our mental vacation. It’s so close to Friday that we get a contact high and can’t think of anything other than what we plan on doing the following night (drinking, sex, pole dancing, robbing a liquor store, whatever).
Friday
Need I say more?
Saturday
It’s a second chance at Friday. Don’t blow it.
Sunday
Sunday is what I like to call my “aw shit” day. You know what I’m talking about. “Aw shit” I need to make that appointment. Oh well, it’s Sunday so I’ll have to do it tomorrow. “Aw shit” I need to call so-and-so. Oh well, it’s Sunday so I’ll have to do it tomorrow. All day I’m saying “aw shit”.
Monday
So by no fault of its own, Monday is completely fucking set up by Sunday EVERY TIME. Sunday is a slick little bastard. Monday would be just like a Tuesday had Sunday not pushed all it’s “shit to do” in Monday’s lap.
Just think about that for a moment people, just think about that.
You’re welcome!

Ewwww, that’s so true. I hate weekends anyway, but now I really hate them. I think it’s time to visit Mamby Pamby Land again. This reality shit gets old after awhile.
I hate reality shit. Let’s protest!

Thanks for articulating everything I’ve always felt about the days of the week.
For me Sunday turns bad at 5 pm. For some reason up until the i can fool mylf into feeling the weekend still. But at 5 pm, that’s when I know Monday is coming and the weekend is over.
The same thing happens to me. I feel like the weekend is over before Sunday even is
You are right.
Sunday is the instigator!!
Maybe we should have Saturday and Friday kick its ass!!
Mud wrestle!
I say that “Aw shit, it’s Sunday” every Sunday. Come think of it…I say Aw shit, its almost Sunday on Saturday. Something is wrong with this picture.
Story of my life
ROFL, an absolutely perfect description!
*takes a bow* thank you!
hilarious !
Thanks!
I hate Monday too.
I was thinking of getting a restraining order, but then what would I have to write about?
I hate Monday. Let’s skip it from now on. It sucks. Either way.
Skipping Monday has my vote!
Love your blog! Really great job! – Hope your Monday is a good one ! Cheers
Thanks so much Laura
Have a great week. Thanks for reading!
I really shouldn’t be this tired. Oh yeah, it’s Monday!!
See? I do the same thing.
Sundays always come in loudly, with sirens and all, signaling that the workweek is coming. I don’t like Sundays either.
There’s nothing like a blaring siren to get the week started
No body wants to work with Sunday. That’s why it’s a day of rest. sunday is always pushing it’s crapload of work onto other days of the week. Never pulling it’s own weight…
I agree. Monday has gotten the raw end of the deal.

It has. Sunday is definitely a slacker!
Every word of this is so true! Any time I ever worked for myself, I always took Mondays off. Everybody else left the house for work or school, and I could settle down and take care of business or prepare myself for the week, aka rest. Great post! It was as if I wrote it myself.
You definitely know how to put feelings into words very well.
Thank you Christine
Thanks for reading.
You are damn right cuz that’s what I was really saying on Sunday. Then when Monday came, I ain’t wanna call such and such or do nothing else but I had to. Deep thinker u are.
Yep! I’m over Sunday and Monday. Screw em. Thanks for reading.
Funny read and quite true
Thanks Miles
Meh. tuesdays are way overrated.
And my desk and I are close enough that I can express my…affections whenever necessary.
I think the whole damn week is overrated. I vote for a week full of Fridays.
Your desk is one lucky sucker, eh?
Thats funny, and surprisingly true!
Always had the Sunday into Monday blues starting a new week. The anxiety was there even though I was well prepared but being an inner city high school teacher allows for stress any particular day. Good thing we had the breaks. Now retired I don’t even know what day it is often and have no need for an alarm clock except to wake up from nap to prepare dinner. The cost of such freedom is white hair and a host of ailments. Well worth it !
Sure, Sunday has some issues and Monday usually takes the blame…but Monday really needs to grow a pair and stop enabling….wait…what the hell am I saying?! Oh! What I meant to say is…Nice blog! (You can read ‘nice’ as funny, clever, well written.) Shit, I got all caught up in the calendar bashing, sorry!
LMAO! Thanks so much for reading. You are welcome to get caught up and calendar bash here anytime!
Adorable! This is really well-put.
On an unrelated note, have you been tested for Lyme? And not the standard cheap test which is generally negative for everyone, but the real test that is much more accurate? I read your about me and you have textbook symptoms/alternate diagnoses for Chronic Lyme.
Thanks for the info! I have never been tested for Lyme, honestly never even thought about it, but will definitely bring it up when I go back in to my GP for testing. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts
My pleasure- it’s very underdiagnosed. The kind of test to get is by a company called Igenex. It costs about $1000 and isn’t covered by insurance, but there is a program called LymeTap that discounts it up to 75% depending on your income. Also, the kind of dr to see is called an LLMD- Lyme Literate Medical Doctor. GPs usually know nothing about Lyme and don’t even believe you can get it chronically if you don’t catch it at first. I was sick for two years prior to a diagnosis and went to numerous MD’s who told me it was all in my mind. Lyme ruined my thyroid, digestion, emotional well-being, and more, though most of that has been healed now.
Sounds like you’ve been through the ringer medically too. I’ve bookmarked the website for Igenex and am doing some research. Thanks again for your help. It’s really appreciated.
Hope it’s helpful and you get to the bottom of everything. Btw, I never knew I got bit by a tick- still don’t know if it was a tick or mosquito. Feel free to msg if you have any questions in your research, I’ve got scads of info. =)
Lost my thinking cap a long time ago, so I try not to think real hard without it. I’m always asking myself, “what day is this?” When I finally remember, I’m a day late and a dollar short!! Love reading this post, no matter what day it is that I’m reading it.
Damn Damn Damn. Why haven’t we conversed already. Just when you think you got enough to add to the Mental Larsony shit here comes Monday with her unthoughtful lame ass telling Tuesday pick up where i left off bitch. I know i know a bit much yet I’m passionate and all for the protest of the institutionalized mental state caused by the weekdays to get to the rainbow of Friday and Saturday. Just Sayin’
